• About The Role

  • Birmingham Children’s Trust is going from strength to strength. We are the largest provider of family support and social care services for children, young people and families in the UK and Europe. Our goal is to become a centre of excellence in both social care and family support. By choosing to work for us, you will be part of a supportive, dynamic service contributing to our service improvement journey to ‘Outstanding’.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Business Support Service for a Full Time (36.5 hours) permanent Business Support Officer within the Emergency Duty Team (EDT).
The EDT work out of hours, between 4:45pm and 1:30am and, as such, your hours in the Business Support Officer role, will be worked during these times, by way of a rota.  It will also include some weekend working.
Shifts and rotas will vary and be reviewed periodically in line with business needs. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure the smooth running of the team.

The primary role of the EDT is to:
    • Provide essential support to frontline Social Work staff in an Out of Hours service.
    • Work closely with Practice staff to ensure data is up to date and that our care records management system, Eclipse, reflects accurate and timely information about Children and Families.
    About You!
    • Are you a  ‘can-do' person, who is passionate about high quality, service delivery and performance?
    • Can you work effectively within a dedicated team environment?
    • Are you customer focused and able to deliver the role with a flexible forward-thinking and creative approach?
Excellent communication is key to this role as call handling is a fundamental part of the Business Support Officer role and you will be the first port of call for both the public and other professionals.  We currently use Cirrus telephony and full training will be provided.

What you can expect from us:

Being part of a positive, supportive, ‘can-do’ service and wider Trust
We are a forward thinking, innovative organisation, proactive in delivering the most optimum services for our              children, young people and wider local community
    Career development opportunities
Opportunities to contribute to our service improvement journey.

    Safeguarding
