  • Birmingham Children’s Trust continues to go from strength to strength. We are the largest provider of family support and social care services for children, young people and families in the country. Our goal is to become a centre of excellence in both social work and family support

    We have an exciting Care Leaver Apprenticeship Programme and a real opportunity for the right person who wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people within the Trust.

    Are you someone who has Care Experience and is a Birmingham Care Leaver?

    • You will be supporting the learning and development of staff across the Trust. Working with both the Learning Academy and Practice Academy as a Rights and Participation apprentice.
    • We are looking for the right person who can work closely with project leads across the Academy to support delivery of training. 
    • In the role, you will also be asked to implement the voice of the child into all learning programmes – designing how we embed voices from those with lived experience into our learning offer for all.
    • Do you have a specific focus on creating a bank of content for those with lived experience to be added into training material? You may be asked to work with young people, including children in care and care leavers.
    • You will co-facilitate the Connections Count practice model training with colleagues in the Practice Hub, support recruitment events and deliver training session on tools used by the Trust such as Mind of My own.
    • We ask for applicants to be creative and innovative to create own training material and presentations and when ready, deliver own courses within the learning offer.
    • You will need to undertake a Level 3 Learning and development practitioner Apprenticeship and successfully complete level 2 qualifications in English and Maths if you don’t already have these.
