    Working in Birmingham means you will have the benefit of two office bases in the North and South of the city Lifford House and Avenue Road are  purpose-built offices, that has been newly refurbished and it offers plenty of off road parking. You will be joining a team of dedicated social workers and managers who are very committed to their roles but who are also very warm and welcoming to newly appointed staff.

    • Do the job you came into social work to do’.   We are part of an independent organisation, which enables us to focus, single-mindedly on the safety and welfare of children and young people across the city.  As well as focusing on you too. As a social worker for children in care you will have the opportunity to build strong and lasting relationships with children and young people so you can support our children to live in stable and loving homes where they can achieve and reach their aspirations and goals.
    • You will work within our relationship-based, strengths-orientated, family-led practice model.  We will look to you to analyse the information presented to make informed decisions.  You will complete all assessments in line with statutory requirements, as well as implementing, monitoring and reviewing children’s wellbeing within multi-agency meetings.
    • Our services will always be joined-up and you will develop robust partnerships with other teams and outside agencies; to include the police, health, schools and voluntary organisations. 
    • You will need an approved social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. On a personal level, you will bring great communication, analytical and problem-solving skills and calmness under pressure.
    Our recent Ofsted Focused visit (Nov24) found us to be: 
    • Many children benefit from meaningful relationships with social workers who have taken time to build strong and caring relationships with them. Social workers demonstrate a real curiosity and passion to ensure they listen to children and are effective in meeting their needs.
    • Social workers are positive about the support they receive from managers and leaders at all levels. Caseloads are manageable and social workers report that they are busy but they feel well supported in their practice. Consequently, social workers are able to develop meaningful relationships with children. They demonstrate a real curiosity and passion to ensure they listen to children and are effective in meeting their needs. Social workers are proud of their work and their children’s progress.
