We have an exciting opportunity within our Business Support Service for a self-motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join our No Recourse to Public Funds team (NRPF) Finance Team within the Business Support Service.
The Business Support team provides essential administrative and financial support to social workers and managers within the NRPF service. Our work plays a vital role in ensuring that payments are processed accurately, efficiently and on time to support families in need, helping to maintain smooth service delivery and effective support for vulnerable children and families.
This role is primarily finance focused and requires a high level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail. Key responsibilities include processing a range of financial transactions such as rent invoices, BACs payments, council tax bills, prepaid payments, council rent and cash payments. You will work closely with team managers, social workers and external stakeholders to ensure all financial processes are completed accurately and within KPI’s.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be confident working with financial systems, and be able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. This is a key role supporting the financial operations of the NRPF service, ensuring payments are made promptly and efficiently to enable effective service delivery.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.

- Experience of working in a pressured environment, dealing with several conflicting and changing priorities effectively, to achieve business objectives
- Good understanding of Microsoft packages

We are working within a Hybrid working model. All staff are expected to be office based for at least 2 days a week for team/service workdays, team meetings, supervision etc. There may be more frequent attendance required by the service or team you are based in. This frequency will be determined by your manager. This role is required to work between both our offices at One Avenue Road, Aston or Lifford House in Stirchley.
