• About The Role

  • Birmingham Children's Trust put children and young people at the centre of its work and is very passionate about participation and co production and ensuring that our children, young people, families, parents and carers have a say in services they experience, as well as opportunities to develop and change what we do and how we do it.

The role is an exciting one and allows the right candidate to be able to work directly with children, young people, families, parents and carers as well as youth and adult voice groups. The role would lead support from our advocates to United and Unique’s children in care councils and care leaver forums. The role also needs to coordinate, deliver and support participation across the Trust.

The role is part of a really exciting and dynamic area of service that gets to directly influence and support change and promote good practice. The role also supports advocates and our rights and participation apprentices who directly work and support our children and young people and allow their voice to be heard.

    We are looking for someone:

    • Who is passionate about children and young people and the families we work with.
    • Who can engage really well with children, young people, families, professionals, other agencies and senior leaders.
    • Who can work hard to deliver the Trusts focus and strategy on co-production and participation.

If this sounds like you, apply today.

We are committed to using our resources wisely, ensuring that every penny is spent where it counts the most. We foster collaboration among schools, health professionals, and the police, working together to create a supportive network for our young people.

We believe that when we work as one cohesive team, the children and young people of Birmingham are more likely to thrive. Our unified approach ensures that we provide the best possible support and opportunities for their growth and development.

Join us and together, we can create a brighter future for all.

    Safeguarding

At Birmingham Children’s Trust, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Depending on the role, you may be asked to undergo the appropriate level of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess your suitability for working with children and young people.

The level of check (Standard, Enhanced, or Enhanced with Barred List) is determined based on the specific responsibilities of the role and the level of contact with children and young people.

We are committed to the fair treatment of all applicants, including those with criminal records. Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar an individual from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of the offence.
