• About The Role

  • Kick start your career in Business Support. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Birmingham care-experienced young person to join our Rights and Participation team as a Business Support Apprentice. The team’s core business is to empower children and young people to have a voice in decisions that affect their lives. This role is designed to help you gain valuable skills, experience, and a nationally recognised qualification while making a real difference in people’s lives.

    As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals. You will help with the organisation and day‑to‑day delivery of business support tasks, while receiving tailored support and mentoring. You’ll learn on the job alongside experienced colleagues, with structured training and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

    • Supporting the operation and maintenance of administrative systems, including monitoring, recording and processing information in a consistent, accurate and responsive manner.
    • Undertaking a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support the day‑to‑day running of the service.
    • Providing support at meetings as required by the business, including note‑taking and the timely production and distribution of outputs.
    • Maintaining accurate file and data records, ensuring information is organised, up to date and managed appropriately.
    • Supporting the planning and delivery of events and activities for children and young people, including attending events as required.

    In this role, we are looking for a dependable and motivated apprentice who is passionate about learning and developing strong business support skills while contributing positively to the team.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Birmingham care-experienced young people (this opportunity is ringfenced for you).
    • A genuine interest in helping others and making a positive impact.
    • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
    • Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance.

    No prior experience is required – full training will be provided.
