Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families?
Do you have the drive to support and empower young people to achieve their full potential? If so, Birmingham Children’s Trust wants you!
At Birmingham Children’s Trust, we provide outstanding care and support to children with disabilities and their families across Birmingham. Our mission is simple: to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, committed to innovation and excellence in social work practice.
About the Team.
As a Children’s Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support.
The team is made up of a Team Manager, a Senior Practitioner and 6 Social Workers.
The East team is based at One Avenue in Aston, and there is also an office in Stirchley that colleagues can use for meetings and flexible working. Both offices offer free parking.
Following our 2023 Ofsted inspection, Birmingham Children’s Trust was rated ‘Good’, with positive highlights around leadership, partnership working, safeguarding, and corporate parenting.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance and have the correct right-to-work documents. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship.
Our Children with Disabilities Service is a through-service, meaning we complete the child’s assessment upon receipt of referral and remain with the child whether the plan is Child in Need, Child Protection, or Child in Care. We work in robust partnership with other teams and outside agencies, including the police, health services, schools, and voluntary organisations.
This is a truly rewarding role where you’ll see the positive impact of your work every day. We’ll support you with ongoing professional development, clear career pathways, and a culture that values your wellbeing and success.
