• About The Role

  • We have an exciting opportunity within our Business Support Service for a self-motivated Business Support Officer to join our Family Time and Conference Service, providing essential support to the reception function and the day to day running of our Family Time and Conference Centres. This will involve meeting and greeting internal and external customers, resolving customer enquiries face to face and over the telephone, supporting with the allocation of work to the Business Support Assistants, managing and prioritising the workload via inboxes, completing and monitoring rota’s, raising purchase orders, dealing with invoices, supporting with building enquiries and updating children’s records. You will provide advice and support to Business Support Assistants in the team on a day-to-day basis and collate statistical information as directed.

     About You….

    • You will be a ‘can-do' person, who is passionate about high quality service delivery and performance
    • You will have a good understanding of customer service, be a pro-active team player with the ability to work flexibly across buildings to provide continuity of service.
    • You will be able to manage several conflicting priorities and use your own initiative to respond independently to difficult problems and unexpected situations providing a solution focused response.
    • You will have good attention to detail, have experience of working in a busy, diverse team environment and you will be able to work under pressure including meeting deadlines and dealing with interruptions.

    Key skills we will be looking for in your personal statement include: -

    • A good understanding of customer service.
    • Experience of managing a group of staff ensuring clear expectations and driving outcome focused performance.
    • Experience of managing conflicting priorities, the ability to organise own workload and decide priorities.
    • The ability to work under pressure, including meeting deadlines and dealing with interruptions.
    • The ability to resolve internal/external issues and providing a solution focused response.
    • The ability to communicate complicated or sensitive information with varied audiences in person and/or in writing.
    • The ability to work flexibly as part of a team environment, providing cover when needed to ensure continuity of service provision.
    • The ability to manage a process, ensuring accurate and timely outputs.
    • The ability to cope with situations where there is an emotional demand arising from the work being undertaken
